
Current Willowell Co-op Members
Willowell was formed in the summer of 1998 by a group of concerned native plant and forest lovers through the purchase of "Willowell Nursery", formerly owned and operated by one of our current members, Roy Beaty. Following is a list of all members, and a little background information on each.
- Roy B.
- Roy originally started Willowell in 1995 when he was frustrated by his fruitless endeavors searching for native plants for his home landscape. He now is a key component to the development of the co-op.
- Jane
- Jane comes to us with a diverse database oriented background. She is also a self-employed health care consultant.
- Claudia
- An owner of her own native nursery, Claudia started "Beaver Pond Natives" in 1998 on a 38.8 acre spread near Banks, OR. Married to Dan, the business man.
- Dan
- Currently president of _________ Electronics, Dan comes to Willowell with decades of small business background and a willingness to really know plants. Dig away, Mr. Dan!
- MJ
- MJ is an ancient forest junkie where he acquired his first love for native plants. Previous owner of a home-based business for nine years (Outdoor Essentials), recent recipient of an Associates of Horticulture degree from Clackamas Community College, blah blah blah.
- Angie
- Angie comes to Willowell via Seattle where for 6 years she was manager of a native wetlands restoration co-op for King County. Is entering OGI to work on a restoration masters, and plans on moving to PDX soon.
- Lynn
- Education specialist for City of Portland - Bureau of Environmental Services coordinating efforts for the "Clean Rivers" campaign.
- Andree
- Andree has a Bachelors in Forestry from Oregon State Univ. and is currently in the field doing reforestation research throughout the coastal forest range.
